Activity: Scavenging

01

Overview

Scavenging is a way for your character to earn extra experience points (XP) and loot for your characters by scavenging the lost cities and settlements of Hvalla.

What is Scavenging?

  • Scavenging is defined as searching and collecting items.
  • Scavenging can be undertaken in groups or individually.
  • Scavenging has direct consequences on a character's health and capabilities, so it is not for the faint of heart.

Submission Requirements

  • All characters must be at least 75% visible in order to be counted.
  • You may only submit art for activities at this time. Literature/roleplay is not accepted.
  • You can submit a maximum of one scavenge every 24 hours per character.

You can find the entirety of our scavenging rules on the journal provided here. Always refer to the rules and guidelines provided in the current scavenging journal before preparing your scavenging submission.

Important Areas and Landmarks

It's important to make the distinction between Important Areas and Landmarks. Cities will always be an Important Area and may have Landmarks in them. Landmarks are often named features of the landscape such as forests, bodies of water such as lakes and rivers, standing stones, etc. In comparison, important areas are commonly settlements or places of historical importance. They also play different roles mechanically.

Important Areas: The main, claimable areas within a subzone.

Landmarks: A noticeable feature within an important area that may have cultural value.

Find the zone maps and their locations HERE.

Locations to Scavenge

An unclaimed city will be listed as an Important Area and will be the available area your warg can scavenge within a zone. These cities, when explored sufficiently, will count towards reclaiming first the city, and then the zone as wargs move through Hvalla. A character can only scavenge an unclaimed city.

You may scavenge at Landmarks as part of the Important Area a city is in, as long as you only list the important area they fall in. E.g., Lost City. If you do not list the important area in your scavenging form that a landmark belongs to, then it will not be processed.

How to Participate

In order to participate in an activity, your character must have an account and have been uploaded to the group.

Use this journal to submit your character’s exploration entries. Once you have filled out the appropriate form, the team will then roll to determine what loot your character earns.
