Activity: Exploration

01

Overview

Exploration is a way for your character to earn extra experience points (XP) and loot for your characters by exploring the world of Hvalla.

What is Exploration?

  • Exploration is defined as traversing the game environment.
  • Exploration can be undertaken in groups or individually.
  • Exploration has direct consequences on a character's health and capabilities, so it is not for the faint of heart.

Submission Requirements

  • All characters must be at least 75% visible in order to be counted.
  • You may only submit art for activities at this time. Literature/roleplay is not accepted.
  • You can submit a maximum of one exploration every 24 hours per character.

You can find the entirety of our exploration rules on the journal provided here. Always refer to the rules and guidelines provided in the current exploration journal before preparing your exploration submission.

Important Areas and Landmarks

It's important to make the distinction between Important Areas and Landmarks. Landmarks are often named features of the landscape such as forests, bodies of water such as lakes and rivers, standing stones, etc. In comparison, important areas are commonly settlements or places of historical importance. They also play different roles mechanically.

Important Areas: The main, claimable areas within a subzone. They are used in all activities.

Landmarks: A noticeable feature within an important area that may have cultural/lore based value. They add variety to your submissions.

Find the zone maps and their locations HERE.

Locations to Explore

Important Areas are all the available areas your warg can explore within each zone. Each of these areas, when explored sufficiently, will count towards reclaiming first the area, and then the zone as wargs move through Hvalla. It is important that areas are explored in order to “win back” or claim them for your race. Once all the areas within a zone are reclaimed, the zone falls under the control of the dominant race and is considered part of their territory. Once a zone has been completely claimed, the zones around it will open for activities and the race will be able to choose which unclaimed zone they target next. The cycle then repeats itself.

You may explore Landmarks as part of an Important Area, as long as you only list the important area they fall in in your form. E.g., Eastern Ley-Well when exploring at the Völv Stones landmark. If you do not list the important area in your exploration of a landmark, then it will not be processed.

How to Participate

In order to participate in an activity, your character must have an account and have been uploaded to the group.

Use this journal to submit your character’s exploration entries. Once you have filled out the appropriate form, the team will then roll to determine what loot your character earns.
